DVD burning questions!

Advice Pro

1. If I click Burn in Windows Explorer, will Vista use the default disc burning app?

2. The same with right clicking on a file in WE and selecting Send To > DVD RW Drive?

3. I have Power2go 5 and am planning to upgrade to Power2Go 8 Essentials, is there anything bad about this software, do you think that there's something out there better for free?

If you put a blank DVD in your optical drive, Vista will, by default, use one of the Windows apps to perform the operation you wish to do. It's in the Autoplay options.

You can easily test the Send To options by just selecting one. Let it ask you to insert a disc and, after inserting one, see where it goes.

There's a lot of good software out there. What you have to do is make sure that your system meets the specifications for whichever software you choose, be it Cyberlink, Nero, Roxio or any of the others. I work with one of those everyday so I'm biased. This is especially important if you plan to do video editing which needs more resources than just simple burning of audio cds, data discs, etc.
