How to change "local" locale setting

Somehow my Windows thinks I am in another zip code, so applications like Mapquest or Local Weather, Local News, anything which tries to be helpful and display local information for me .... is always incorrect. I have searched Registry and don't find the culprit zip code or city name. Where is this stored? How can I correct it? Thanks!!

Welcome
Those sites were given incorrect information. You must change it from the site. This is not a function of Vista.
If you have problems give us a link to the page where you have the problem and we will try to direct you to the settings page.
Sometimes those sites, begin with a representative location, which you must change.

OK, I understand. But am still stymied by what is probably a simple thing. I'll start with Mapquest. It keeps coming up with a default location of Culpepper, VA which is 22701. MY zip is 22601. In poking around through their help db, I found where I could go back to classic/mapquest.com and change the default there but that does not transfer 'forward' to the newer release. I'll keep plugging at it. I think I did get one other app. changed and will continue to test it. Interesting, though, that some of these apps are picking up on the same zip code as MINE, even though incorrect. That's why I thought there was a common place it got stored within Windows ... perhaps from initial system setup when Windows asks all the start up questions.... what's your name, etc.

Thanks for your speedy reply, though.
