Solved MULTIPLE DAILY EVENT IDs 100, 200 ETC

Hi, I receive multiple event IDs on a daily basis. Most of them seem to involve slow to & recover from sleep, start-up & standby modes. (I checked the info you have on steps to fix sleep problems but my PC does go to sleep OK & wakes up OK.) Most are errors, some critical although none seem to affect performance ie no crashes etc. I've tried a number of cleaners eg FixCleaner, Regzooka, etc but none seem to correct these errors. A system scan was performed remotely by FixCleaner & showed corrupt files. I've been told my system is too old now & I should upgrade to Windows 7 or that I should reinstall Windows Vista.
I'm not very computer savvy especially when it comes to mucking about w/ the OS itself. I'm torn between "if it ain't that broke don't fix it" vs concerned that, down the line, it will crash.
Please advise.
Thanks, Nick.

Welcome
I understand your concern about the errors that appear in the event viewer. There is no need for concern if you take the proper precautions.
Once a week back up your stuff. Important documents pictures etc, should be backed up.
Once a month make a back up of your entire hard drive using this free software
Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download
It would be in your best interest to buy an external hard drive, so that your stuff will be safe regarless of what happens.
Now regarding the errors. You may be causing some of them your self, the use of reg cleaners and other tune up software is not recommened by the members of the forum. Reg cleaners in particular can and do cause problems.
Everyone has errors on the event viewer. They should be used in the event of a problme to diagnose and not to look for problmes. The code 100 is a long boot or wake up time. That can be caused by software that take a long time to shut down.
Make the suggested back ups and follow this maintenance schedule for happy computing.

To maintain your computer

10 Tips on How to Properly Maintain Your Computer

Steps that I did not notice on the guide include:

Running a scan disc before doing a defrag

Using Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes.

Making System Restore points, at least once a week

Makaing a system Image once a month (varies by user)

Not relying on your A/V common sense, should prevail. You know of many sites can cause a problem.

Do not use any reg cleaning or optimizing software.

Download and use Ccleaner about once every two months. Untick any registry entries.

If you follow these instructions, you will be trouble free for a long time to come.

Be sure to back up your hard drive about once a month (varies by user) and to keeep system restore points up to date.

Are you receiving some kind of error message or are you just happening to be looking at the Event Logs? If you get an error message, what does it say?

I don't know how old your computer is but you should first check the system requirements for Win 7 to make sure your system meets them.
