Solved Disable vista hibernate/sleep

Could someone please help me. I need to disable the hibernate or sleep on my Vista machine. I tried the disk cleanup thing, but there was no option on there for"hibernate" as it showed on a google link I looked at. Please,if you CAN help, don't tell me something that might mess up my files or registry, because my knowledge is very limited. I didn't have this before.
For years the updates would fail on this one: NVIDIA GeForce 6150E. Couple nights ago an icon appeared: HP Games. They wanted you to try & buy games. I'd uninstall & delete & it would come back . Finally it stayed gone. Then I went into the games which came with my computer. Upon trying to play<got a message saying I needed to update my video card or something. Wound up on NVIDIA sight & downloaded something for Vista (what I don't know). My entire desktop changed(icons) I worked for 4 hours & finally got it back right, but thats when my computer stated going to sleep when left for a while. I hate it & want it gone. You know I don't think HP shoul be allowed to do those things. That sales pitch started it all.
Please reply to this if you can help. Hope I'm not supposed to put my email address in here. Sorry so long. Thank you. rosebud65

I know I'm probably doing this all wrong,as I only skimmed the "How To's". Nevertheless--THANK YOU so much. The issue seems to be resolved. At least I was away from the desk for about 30 minutes & it didn't go to sleep in that time. I did the hint about going into Control Panel>System Maintenance>Power Options etc. I'm crossing my fingers & thanking you so much for the help. You've made my day!!! If it sleeps again later,I'll get back on here. Have so much I need to learn, and will be reading & asking other things. TTYL
