Resize in MS Paint

Hi,
I want to use MS Paint to resize a picture. I have done this successfully in the past but now I can't seem to get the desired results.
My objective is to make a Jewel case picture that reflects the contents. I start by finding an appropriate image via GOOGLE images. I copy this and edit - paste it into MS Paint. Then I resize it to make it about 4 1/2 in square. It looks OK in print preview .When I try to print it I get many blank pages. If I set print set up to fit to one by one pages the image is tiny and not usable. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Have you tried saving the file to your computer and then printing it off using windows picture viewer? If that doesn't work try using microsoft word to resize it.

Thanks Tekno Venus,
I opened it with Windows Photo Gallery (sequel to Picture Viewer) and chose Square crop. It gave me a 3- 1/2 X 4 picture which will do fine!. I think my Paint needs to be re-installed.It came with the computer and has not been upgraded. Is the a way to reinstall paint?

Thanks Patomb and Tekno
I did download and try GIMP it surprised me with it's ease to accomplish the task of creating a image size suitable for a Jewel Case. I also came across a plug in that facilitates this job. It is "Liquid Gimp Rescale". I can specify 4 1/2 " square.
I did get frustrated trying to use the help as provided by GIMP. I got it to work with my browser (Firefox) but I could not get their "Gimp Help Browser" installed. That would be a cleaner solution. Do you use it? If so, how did you install it?
Thanks
