Solved Vista Scanning Software

I'm running Home Premium 32-bit on an Acer Aspire 5100 3.0 Windows Experience Index, Processor AMD Turion(tm) 64x2 Mobile Tecnology TL-50 160 GHz Ram 2.00 GB 32-bit operating system.
I have an old wonderful and reliable Brother MFC 6800 Monochrome, Printer, Scanner, Copier, Fax & PC Fax.
Since I went from XP to Vista the scanning function stopped working and Brother says they no longer support my ancient but reliable and lovabled machine for scanning when using Vista.
Can someone please walk me through how to download the scanning software in Vista and fix it so that I can scan documents to email them or fax them through the PC fax function of my reliable Brother MFC-6800? - Thanks.
