Mouse pointer keeps disappearing

I don't know if I am in the right spot but am tidying up a Toshiba A200 laptop running Vista Home Premium - Celeron duo 1GB RAM and currently installing SP2 and other stuff but there is a problem with the mouse pointer - it keeps disappearing when I go to info boxes or things needing clicking on.

Am using a Logitec M215 wireless but this also happens with the touchpad. Can anyone offer me solution if possible please?

It sounds like a driver problem. Go to search and type device manager. If you see any very little red pointers, update those drivers. If you see none, go to the website of the driver and update.

If that is not the solution run a full anti virus scan. Download and run a full scan with malwarebytes.

Thanks rich will do have just found that she hasn't had the Trend renewed for two years and heaven knows what is on there now. Nor is there SP 1 (downloading now) for that matter and I suppose it will be SP2 next - bit of a state

I have installed Comodo free but cannot get rid of the Trend but MBAM didn't come up with anything :)

Try this one, too. It is very good at finding those mostly unknown problems. It does not require installation, it is a browser add-on. You may want to use it for the future, too.
ESET :: Get a FREE Online Virus Scan

After you are done downloading all your stuff.
Go to search and type cmd
In cmd type driverquery. Are the dates very old?
Sounds like you may need a bit of updating.

After this problem is solved, dont run away. Ill help you get maintained properly and how to keep it that way. Be sure to remind me, if I forget.
