How to generate thumbs for a whole folder all at once?

Anyone know if there's a way in Vista Home Basic to generate thumbnails for an entire folder all at once, possibly with the command prompt or some other way. Periodically I delete the thumb cache to clear out the deadwood. Here's the problem. I've got a folder with nothing but large video clips. The first time I open it after deleting the thumb cache, I have to wait a fairly long time for the thumbs to be recreated, and it doesn't create them all at once, it only creates them for what's visible on the screen. If I move to a new place in the folder, I have to wait all over again. What I've been doing is just scroll through the whole folder and recreate all the thumbs, but it's getting to be a pain. It would be a lot better if I could just recreate them all at once and be done with it. Any ideas?

I guess that's the way it works. The fact that you enconter slow performance is a matter of your graphics facility which must be an entry level on-board graphics.

In systems with reasonably powerful GPUs, those thumbs pop up instantly.
