Fresh Install of Vista (still acting up)

I just did a complete reinstall of Vista AGAIN!
Still locks up, Ctr Alt Del, I most of the time get....
(sorry no screen shot, just a black screen with dialog box....

Sometimes I long for the simpler CP/M (Control Program for Microcomputers) days.

See how your hardware test and post results of the hard drive results pls.

So what does it mean?
Do I need a new HD?

Looks as if your hard drive is not passing the test.. to me.. Not sure whether you made a faulty disk or not.. do you have another computer to test that test disk on.. ?

I will soon, I am about done with this POS.
Had it since 07, been nothing but trouble.
HP seems to be a dying company can not even
put out decent printers any more.

Maybe this thing can handle being in the garage
and playing CDs with my shop manuals on them.

If not a hammer may fix it, (if a hammer don't
fix it, you have an electrical problem!)

SUGGESTIONS ON PC BRANDS?

PS, Just got done recoding a movie to the PC,
NOTHING THERE, FINAL STRAW.

The video burning problem is a separate issue.

Was not a burning issue, nothing copied to the HD!

I guess there was nothing in the link that I provided that helps.

Depending on your hard drive's manufacturer they might have a diagnostic for you to boot into to scan your hard drive or you can try this: Ultimate Boot CD - Overview

You can also try using a bootable version of Linux such as Ubuntu or Knoppix and if you still have problems then more than likely you are having hardware issues.

Replacing a hard drive isn't the end of the world.
