Solved Help Deleting 'BACKUP' Folder in C

Okay...I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this. Please tell me if it's not.

I recently (sometime in late May) had a computer wiz friend of mine (I am quite the rookie when it comes to messing with OS installations and drivers and that sort of thing) install Vista on a different computer but with my hard drive. I had a virus on the other one and couldn't get to my desperately wanted files. So he somehow managed to delete the virus and transfer my hard drive to this new computer. He hasn't been available to get a hold of to help me so I'm here.
My problem is this: There is a MASSIVE folder located in C called BACKUP. It's is packed full with duplicate files that I just don't need!!!! It would save a ton of space on vista which already eats my space. There is a Windows folder, Program Files, Users, the whole nine yards. Obviously vista won't allow me to just delete it.
Any help would be AMAZING! :)
Thanks,
Chloe
