Kaspersky Pure Freezing

I am having trouble with my Internet security, Kaspersky Pure. It seems to have picked up some sort of virus and I tried to use Modify, Repair or Remove to fix it but then it kept freezing and no matter how long I waited it would not move. So then I tried to uninstall and reinstall Kaspersky but the uninstall didn't work properly and now when I try to go into Modify, Repair or Remove it goes straight to installing Kaspersky. This would be fine but it freezes with about an eighth to go.
I have Windows Vista and a Toshiba computer. (not sure if that helps)
What can I do to get Kaspersky up and working again? Thanks

Most Anti Virus, other than Microsoft Security Essentials gives members problems from time to time. I would suggest that you make a system restore point, uninstall and then install Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebyte for a once a week scan. These are free so you will lose nothing. I use Security Essentials and have never had a problem.
