Boot loop vista x64 ultimate

Installed vista x64 ultimate today on my custom built pc and got to my desktop screen. I decided to restart it as I wanted to make a back up.
When I restarted it it went past posting and then showed the windows logo and the green loading bar came up then the pc restarted itself. It has been doing this ever since. Tried putting back in the vista cd and it opens the windows files then blue screens saying "page fault in nonpaged area" does anyone have any advice on the matter.
Many thanks to any and all that reply

Hello Ciaranq and welcome to the forums

Firstly, could you tell us your full system specs please?

A page fault error is caused by something trying to access a non-paged area of the RAM (which it can't access) and this is what makes the system crash. Try reseating your RAM.

Oh so it's a ram issue. Interesting as I have another stick of ram (8gb PKR ddr3) and that has gone corrupt for some reason too. Both my modules have gone bad? :(

Thanks for the specs, your RAM looks good enough to me. Just out of curiosity, why did you go for a 730W PSU? It doesn't look like you need anywhere near that much.

The crash happened because of an action with the RAM - whether it was a problem with the software trying to access something it can't, or the RAM allocating space it shouldn't have, I don't know. Try a last known good config boot:

As I have an apu and gpu I can crossfire them yeah, but anything above a 6670 will negate the integrated graphics so I am saving up for another 6770 to crossfire them. Plus have LED fans and sound card and wireless adaptor (other cards not installed yet).
Really confused about this. Now my computer posts, will starting loading vista and then just stay on the bar forever, if I put in my DVD drive with the vista disk inside it blue screens saying "acpi driver internal"

And now it's back into it's restart loop when I try and start it via any of the options from windows. Put the bios to defaults, even cleared the bios. Swapped ram ports, didn't make any difference.

Hi Ciaranq,

Let's have a look at the crash dumps to see if they can shed any light on the situation. I've never come across an ACPI_DRIVER_INTERNAL bugcheck before so I would be very interested to see the dump. Seeing as there's no hope with booting Windows (for now), we'll have to use a Linux live CD to access the files on your hard drive. If you don't know how to do this, then instructions can be found here:

Use Ubuntu Live CD to Backup Files from Your Dead Windows Computer - How-To Geek

I know that link is for backing up files, but if you just follow the first set of instructions to make and boot into the live CD then that would be great.

Once you've booted into Ubuntu. Navigate to the following folder on the hard drive:

C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy and paste all of the files in this folder onto a flash drive. Then plug this flash drive into the computer you're currently using to access this site, zip up all of the files and attach this zip file to your next post for us to have a look at please.
