Do you want to scan removable drive? first time it asked how come?

OS:Windows Vista home premium (Japanese)32 bit.
    Computer: Dell, XPS M1530.
    ----------------------------------------------

I have been using USB memory, SD/SDHCcards, External hard drives. I am also aware of the threat from USB memory/Flash memory. I always keep scanned computer and drives.

Last night when I inserted a USB memory in to the USB socket there was a message which was asking, Do you want to scan this removable drive? and another option was I think ignore or no(these were in Japanese). I did ran scan.

My question is, having this kind of message first time(not from anti virus software)is ok or it is a matter of concern?

The only new thing which I am doing since few days is whenever I use USB memory I first run anti virus soft. Could it be the reason of such message which I have talked above?

Please share your thoughts or advice.
    Thank you

anti-virus soft is malware. You should run malwarebytes to try to detect and quarantine it.

    Thank you for answer.

I already got Norton and it shows no problem. Ok I will check malwarebytes free version 14 days trial or Pro?
    Thank you.

    Welcome
Go with the free. This is not a trial. It can be used to scan for problems as long as you have it installed.

Thank you for the download link.
I have downloaded. Is it ok to install Malwarebytes when Norton is already installed on computer. I hope Malwarebytes is a trustworthy software.

Just so you know most here prefer the free Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes, but Norton and Malwarebytes will not conflict. Both allow you to exclude the other Anti Virus from the search process. Most experience no problems because Malwarebytes is just a scan and Norton is real time. That being said, I have seen major problems caused with Norton installed alone as I have with other Anti Virus installed alone.
Before downloading Malwarebytes make a system restore point, so that you can go back if you do not like it for any reason.

Thank you for details I appreciate it very much.
In Windows Vista it is not easy to make restore point. Some times it can and some times it could not. I will try and see.
What if I do not make restore point and install Malwarebytes and at later stage wanted to un-install, is it easily un-install?

There should be no problem to uninstall, but making a system restore should not be difficult.
