Hey

Alright let me begin by saying im not the best with computers, but last night when i was installing windows 7 on my vista laptop, my girlfriend for some stupid reason decided to turn off the laptop during the installation. I tried to repair the laptop, nothing happened, i attempted system recovery, again nothing happened, it gave me no options of recovery. i restarted the laptop several times and it refused to start up normally. At this stage i knew my laptop was ****ed. So i decided to go ahead and install windows 7, it worked, i thought great, back on track. but i know something is wrong with my system. the pictures below will show.

this is what i get everytime i restart my laptop, this never happened before, but now it pops up all the time.

and this is what i got after i clicked on 'loader help' from the menu above.

i thought about resetting the laptop to factory setting, but when i pressed Alt + f10, the page does not load up as it used to. The system just seems to be messed up. Something may have been deleted, i dont know, maybe if someone can help me, i just want to get the original system operating like it used to. sorry for my bad english.

Welcome
This is what you do, your Girl Friend, borked the Operating System and hopefully not any damage to the Hard Drive. Start over use the clean install method to install Seven. If there is not hard drive damage, you will be as good as new.

Looks like a loader has been used.

Is that a clean win7 install disc?

If so, it seems Vista wasn't properly licensed.

You could try selecting the entry that says NO SLIC.

You do have a valid win7 product key for that machine, I take it?

vista was the original software when i purchased the laptop from curry's. i think she may have deleted something. personally i would like to restore the factory settings and get vista back to how it used to be, then install windows 7 again. that way i know the whole laptop is fine, is this possible?

Very strange messsage if that is a normal oem preinstall.

It doesn't make sense for any oem to have a help file like that.

You can probably restore from the wim on the recovery partition.

First thing to try is to boot up something to mark the recovery partition Active - then restart and if you are lucky, the oem recov program will start.

Easy way to mark it active is with partition wiz free boot disc:

direct : Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online

home page: Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

If you have a valid Seven CD, you can just try to reinstall, using the clean install method. If there are no problems with your hard drive, it should work.
