Solved Start-up question re cursor

I have noticed recently that when I first start Vista, that when the greenish-blue Welcome screen pops up, the Vista cursor is not always rotating...maybe 50% of the time this happens. Is there any issue I should look into, and does anyone know why this happens ?

That rotating cursor is an indication that the OS has not completed loading and that you should wait before deciding what you want to do.
Either way it is not a problem, unless the roatation takes a long time to complete or if you cannot get past the welcome screen.

thank you , but to be clear (my fault), the cursor does not rotate at all most every time I start up, not, stops after starting to rotate...and so no real problem ?

No, this is not a problem. The rotation just means that you should wait for everything to load. If it is not there or is very short, it just means that everything is loaded. Sometimes it takes longer than other times for many reasons, but not a problem
Next time you are concerned, go to search by the start button
type event viewer
When the viewer comes up, go to administrative. Look for any errors for the time that you are concerned. You can upload a screen shot of the viewer and I will look at it.

Event ID 10 is logged in the Application log after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2008

Thanks for the tip. I found that I needed to add a carriage return at the end of the referenced script for it to execute properly.
