Need Help Please!

My HP a6550a with Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit installed went into System Restore Infinite loop mode and I have tried so many times for weeks to try and fix it.
I'm fairly good with computers but I'm no genius with this so I'm really desperate for help, all I want is my old computer back. (I don't care if I have to erase the whole thing I just really want my computer back to working normally)

I created a recovery disk and I changed the settings in the boot setup so that the disk is loaded. I found my product key stuck to the side of my computer (store bought pre-installed) and thought I had found my solution to put in the product key and hip hip hooray I have my computer back, but it isn't always that simple.

It came up with this message:

"Windows cannot open required file F:/Sources/Install.wim. The file does not exist. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070002"

I've been looking all over for a solution and I have been unsuccessful every time.

It would mean A LOT to me if I finally found a solution!

P.S I have tried also the option of repairing the computer on the set-up menu but when it said to choose a driver to load, their were none and I didn't know where to find it.

Welcome Try this
In boot hit f10 many times and quickly
if nothing happens try f11.
This should activate the restoration partition, which bring the computer back like the day that you took it home. Your stuff will be lost.
A recovery disc does not reinstall windows

Thank you very much for your help and I'm really sorry I didn't get back to you ASAP.

I've tried this solution many of times but it has never worked for me, but it never hurts to try again. :)

I'm currently right now just waiting for System Recovery to load right now and I will keep you up to date on how it goes. :)

As always it never progresses and it shows this error "Error 04001001300001002. If this issue continues, please contact HP support."

Plan B it is then.

Sounds like hardware, maybe the hard drive is shot. There is not much else that I can do.
