Hi,
I have a zip file (sm_en.zip) in my Download folder which looks like a manual for my wife's Dell Studio laptop.
I did a right click and Extract all. It produced 178 individual files.
How do I combine all of these these into the final manual?
Thanks
Frank C

Hello Frank,

Double click on the file Index.html in the folder where you extracted the files to and it should launch the manual :)

Thanks for the reply Tom,
I did as you specified and got a bunch of links (20) to each section of the manual. I would like to know how to put them all together as a complete document.
Thanks
Frank

Hello Frank,

No worries.

Dell doesn't supply that manual as a document. Instead, they have made a website for you to use (which you have open in that screenshot) where you can easily navigate through the different sections. What were you looking for in the manual? It should come under one of the categories on that list, if not I can take a look at the files for you.

Thanks Tom,

I was not looking for anything specific. I though it would be nice to have a printed manual for the laptop in case of a future problem. I will put the files in an appropriate folder for future reference.

Hi Frank,

I've made the manual into a Word document for you:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16537616/Dell Manual.docx

It's 82 pages long though, so I don't know whether you'll want to print it! It was a quick copy and paste into word, so it isn't the best looking of manuals!

Tom 982,

Wow!
That's what we old military types call "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty".
I put the .docx file in a folder devoted to the Laptop. It will faithfully be backed up to a external hard drive. And, I will print it if the need arises.

Thank you so much

Hi Frank,

Haha, glad you like it. I've moved the location of the file in my Dropbox, so the old link will no longer work, here's the new link:

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/16537616/Static/VF/Uploads/Dell Manual.docx

I'll keep this file uploaded so you'll always have access to it should you lose your copy.

Thanks for the rep, and you're most welcome for the help!
