Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit. (Japanese)

I have noticed speaker Icon has disappeared from Task Bar (at the bottom next to clock).
Also unable to put check mark to show as that are is grey and can not add check. Refer screen shot.

I wonder what could be the method to get it back.

PS: I did search the answer before posting.

Thank you

My Computer

Hi,

Let us check if the drivers are installed in the computer. To check that, please follow the instructions:

1. Click start
2. Right click Computer
3. Click Manage
4. Click Device Manager.
5. Check if the driver are installed for audio (Audio, Video, Game controller) or is there any anything listed under Other Devices (if the drivers are not installed in the computer it would listed under Other devices).
6. If yes, then install the drivers and check.
7. If no, then run the Microsoft Fixit using the link : System icons do not appear in the notification area in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 until you restart the computer

Please post back the results.

If I understand the problem correctly, you may also want to go to search by the start button, type notification area, then make sure that the icon for speaker is set to show.

Hello,
I am sorry I forgotten to mention all drivers for audio, video and game controller are installed properly.

After posting question I did one thing, I got CCleaner, I used Repair Registry and found out some Windows items appeared. I saw them first time, therefore, ran repair and re-started the computer. Icon is showing well.

I appreciate your help. Also by your answer I knew about the MS fixit utility.

Thank you
