I have a HP60G-T200 with pre-installed windows vista. Hard drive went bad so I replaced hard drive through away old drive. Thought I could just format with XP so I let it be for acouple months. Now I am trying to get laptop working and I can't install XP as I don't have vista disk or recovery disk. When I try to install xp it locks up and says error needs to shut down.

There's a difference between NTFS file system as created by Vista or Widows Seven and that made by XP. Best bet is to get a Vista iso image and burn it to DVD to get started. Search this forum for Vista iso download and you should get legit links.
