Is this something you've long been struggling with, that has been getting gradually worse over time? Or was your system relatively fast and just recently started lagging? If the latter, then you probably have a virus or spyware/adware program causing you trouble. If the former, then... well, there's a lot of things you'd need to do.

First and foremost, you'd want to consult the tutorial on improving the performance of Vista. Note that there are some things you can do to narrow down the culprits, such as some services that may be an unwelcome load on your system. Also, you may be well overdue for a disk defragmentation. In any case, it's time to do some homework, or...

The simpler but more tedious approach is to back up all of your data and wipe your drive clean with a fresh install. Doing this clears out everything so you don't need to be concerned with remembering what you need or don't need. Then, with a clean operating system, you install only those programs you presently need/use. You'll very likely see a marked speed improvement.

Lastly, do you know how much RAM is installed and what the maximum amount is supported in your computer? For example, your PC can hold 4Gb of RAM and you've got just 1Gb installed. In this case, bumping up to even just 2Gb will deliver a marked improvement. Given how cheap memory is, I'd go with 4Gb.

Everyone, including me, has errors, warnings etc on the event viewer. Many members use the event viewer in the wrong way; they use it backwards. If you have a problem the event viewer is meant to be helpful in trying to solve the problem. You should not go to the event viewer and try to stop the error if you are not experiencing problems.
If you are not having problems with your OS, dont worry about the ocasional problem. In any event only critical and error need to ever be a concern.
The errors that you have should not affect your computer performance or cause you to have problems making an image.

Problem 1 forget about that, its nonsense
Problem 2 may be a worry if it continues
Problem 3. What new software did you install, may be a security concern. Make sure you use malwarebytes and Security Essentials.

Java has had security problems in the past, like other kinds of software (namely browsers). But it seems pretty solid to me at this point. Some of us have no choice to use it for some kinds of programs.

Rich is correct, that the event log will show errors periodically that are far from fatal... but what is not shown is that most of the time Windows recovers from them without any negative consequence. I would note that with a fresh cleanly installed operating system, one shouldn't see errors but instead warnings... and even if errors show up, there shouldn't be many of them. That's just by default.
