Hi Mrs2lots,

Let’s try few troubleshooting steps to check if issue gets resolved:

1. Try a clean boot to check if it would work, providing the link to do a clean boot for reference: How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista or Windows 7
2. Go to safe mode and check if you get same error message. Please use the following link for detailed instructions to go safe mode: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/123496-safe-mode.html
3. If issue persists, please follow the steps in below mentioned link and check if issue gets resolved: How can I reset the Hosts file back to the default?

Please post the results.

It's possible you updated the NVidia driver to a version that is not fully supported by your hardware. Each computer manufacturer has a "recommended" version to use, that is often not the absolute latest available from the video card maker. I would first try Madhur's suggestion of booting into safe mode, then rebooting into normal mode. Sometimes that magically cleans things up. If that doesn't work, then roll back to the restore point just prior to that video driver update.
