How Do I Hide Folder Column Bar?

It's amazing, but I run into this problem all the time about finding a simple answer to a simple question...After browsing the net for nearly a half an hour I came up empty for an answer as to how to hide a folder's Column Bar. You know, that common bar that runs across the top of a window that displays Name, Date Modified, Size, ect.? Anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance. :zip:

Apparently, you misunderstood the question...I didn't ask how to customize the column bar; any moron can do that! I asked how to hide it, or even better, remove it altogether.

I'm thinking that it probably requires a registry tweak. So I need some advanced user knowledge.

Thanks anyway.

Hello Tweakmeister,

When we set the View options to Details (Right click -> View icons -> Details), the column bar which has the Name, Date Modified, Time and Size will come up to indicate the list of details for the files in the folder. It is designed by Microsoft and cannot be deleted.

However, if you do not want the column at the top, you may want to select the View icons as List (Right Click -> View Icons -> List). This would not have the column at the top. Along with that, it will not show the details of the files.

Please write back if you have any further questions.

Thanks & Regards
