Hello

I have transfered the files on stick from old system that was XP to this system Vista Home Premium.

several files wont open in a readable state. e.g. they are in a binary code that makes no sence

the files state that they are

word WPS

Have tried to open and save file as Rich text Doc
but they are still in code and unable to read.

Help Please.

also

if I install the old HDD that is 80gb SATA running XP into the new unit that is also 80GB but running Vista Home Premium
Will one "fight" the other ?

Ideally I would like to have the old HDD with its many files inc the ones I have installed from the back up stick as mentioned.
and use as a expansion storage.
and keep the Vista HDD also.

I am prepared if needed to transfer files over, and wipe the XP one then transfer as required back, files and esp Pictures etc.

would this be a problem and if so what should I do to avoid problems.

I dont use the Machine for Games etc. but it is running at 2gb Ram at present and would be prepared if needed to add more ram (there is room for 4gb) to Board.

Many thanks for your advice in advance.
