How to install UEFI-GPT?

I have a copy of Vista SP1 64-bit, and I've tried everything from following the same directions for Windows 7 to get it to boot. I cannot for the life of me get the vista setup to boot through UEFI, only legacy and MBR. I currently have it running fine on MBR, but I had Windows 8 installed, and since I like to OS jump every now and then, I thought I'd give vista a shot again, since I haven't used it since before Windows 7 came out. I actually really like vista.

Can anyone explain how if anyones done it before?

You can try going into the BIOS and turning off Secure Boot. Vista might not have the appropriate permissions.

Well. That did work. It's installed UEFI on GPT now. But I really don't see any difference from it running on MBR.

UEFI doesn't use the master boot record.

Once you have Vista installed, I think you can reset Secure Boot as it's intended.

Is your problem solved?
