Error message...

Can someone tell me how to remove this from my computer??? Every few days I get a box that pops up with a red circle white X and says :

"Cant find script engine "VBScript" for script "C:\Program files(x86)\Verizon\IHA_MessageCenter\CmdVBS.vbs".

A computer repair person for the place where I work said this to me "According to Verizon's website, just delete the C:\Program files(x86)\Verizon\IHA_MessageCenter folder and the problem should go away."

Unfortunately I myself did not see this anywhere on the verizon sites.and I cannot afford to pay him to remove it..Also I did not understand or know how to "delete" this...he said its not as simple as going to the uninstall/add/remove programs.

So can anyone tell me in the easiest way how to delete this?

Are you using the Verizon service? If not, is it listed in Programs and Features? If so, uninstall it. If it still persists, we can address that later.

Thank you so much for your reply..I did have Verizon services on here I think b/c before we moved we use to have verizon fios for tv and internet etc...now we do not.....

The only thing I saw when I went to > Control Panel, Uninstall/Change programs...that even had the word verizon in it...was Verizion Yahoo tool bar (I think that was the name) when I opened it...to uninstall it...it listed Verizon Yahoo Messanger, Verizon Yahoo Tool bar...etc...I checked almost all of them except the one that just said "Yahoo"...b/c yahoo is my tool bar...and it would not finish the uninstall..so I checked them all then, then it finished and asked me to re-boot..so I did. Do I just wait now to see if that message comes back and if it does just let you know?

Thanks,

Nicole

I'm a little confused in regards to the status.

After you rebooted, is the entry in Programs and Features gone?

If it is, then you can wait to see if the error returns. Something else you can do, is to run msconfig.exe and look in both the Services and Startup tabs and check to see if there is anything Verizon listed and disable whatever is there. You could do the same thing in Internet Explorer, or whatever your browser is, in Manage Add-Ons. Obviously, you can delete the folders on your C: drive containing Verizon files.
