Solved Confusion RE Amount of Memory On MY PC
I have an HP s3700. When I look up system info it says I have a 3.0 GB hard drive. However when I look up the spacke left on my computer it says 162 GB free of 286 GB. Do I have a 3.0 GB or a 300 GB hard drive? I was wondering because I just orderd a Western Digital 500GB external HD for backing up pics and music. Does that mean 500GB or 5.0 GB. Just a little confused..:huh:

You have a SATA II, 300Gig hard drive.
300 Gigibytes is the size OF THE DRIVE, and it transfers at a SATA II speed of 3.0Gbytes/sec
300 Gigabytes = 286 Gigabits... it's due to the convrsion of 1 unit to the other.
