No default user folders

My user folders (Pictures, Documents, Music etc.) are not available. There are only the Desktop and Favourites one. When I click the links in the start menu nothing happens, these folders simply don't exist.
I'm not sure if it's been always like this or something made them disappear as I got this laptop from a friend.

I'm running Vista Home Premium.

Any help on how to get them back is greatly appreciated.

Also when you press start and select your username what folders appear?

In addition, you could use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to restore any affect user folder in your "C:\Uses\(user-name)" folder.

Other accounts have all the folders.

In the start menu there are Docments, Pictures, Music and Games, and only the Games one works.

Hi Brink,

I'm following option 2, however in the elevated command prompt it's telling me "parameter format not correct". I typed everything as it is in the tutorial

That error means that something was typed wrong. See if copying and pasting the commands at step 23 (??) instead may work better for you.

I tried that and I still get the error

Ok. In that case, go ahead and post a screenshot showing this to see if anything may stand out.

For now, go ahead and restart the PC to apply what has been done so far, then start OPTION TWO over to see if may be able to go further without getting this error.
