well I did what it said (Reset User Account Password)and it appeared to make since but it didnot work it went right back to where it was, one thing I didnot understand is if it's completely disconnected why would it make since to switch wires for 30 sec.and put them back, while the battery is out as well

A password is a security measure to prevent unauthorized access to a computer. This forum receives many requests related to unknown passwords. Some of these are legitimate while others are not and we have no way to tell the difference. And there is no way to prevent such information from being used by others for illegal purposes. Thus, we must err on the side of caution.

At the top of the tutorial it says it will only work if the Administrator account is the only one created. If you have files under Guest then maybe that's the reason it won't work? I'm just guessing.

The other point. Who gave you the computer? And why can't they remember/tell you the password?

Also in my humble opinion when it's already been stated the only solution allowed to be suggested here is the one you already tried, then pursuing this particular question here is not likely to bear fruit. The WWW is really really big.

"it will only work if the Administrator account is the only one created."OK I read it and tried it anyway, wouldn't you, I tried every thing else, the computer was given to me. I am a trash man (Sanitation Specialist :geek:) if you must know and the computer was given to me by some well off people on my route because they did not know there daughters password and instead of them trying to make her remember they decided to just by a new one..and told me if you can get it to work you can have it...

I wasn't trying to yank your chain. Just get more info. :)
As I hinted, this forum limits what info can be posted on this topic. But the web is vast and if you search long enough you may find something useful. Good luck with it. :)
