I think it has to with a long time ago, I downloaded a program that let me change advanced appearance settings very easily to make my computer faster.
However it was trial version and expired, and I didn't get to change it back.
It didn't really bother me because my computer was a little faster/less glitchier without all the fancy stuff but now I want my Aero back and I can't!
I've tried everything. I think I once even reverted to an older state of the computer and nothing changed except getting a heck of a lot old bookmarks and things I'd deleted.
It seems I have two issues that I've found with Microsoft Fix it and Troubleshooting Aero, my Windows Device Manager is disabled (even though I've done numerous attempts to re-enable it) and my theme doesn't "support" Aero even though I've changed it numerous times!
My computer had Aero so it's able to support Aero, I've checked. I just don't know how to bring it back? I also can't access the simple Appearance settings window but go straight to Advanced instead. I don't have the slider anymore for transparency and I've tried editing my Registry lots of times and nothing!
If I get desperate, I might system restore to the oldest thing I got, but I really don't want to because I'll get all this old junk :/
