Laptop stopped responing

My wife's laptop has just stopped responding to click inputs.

The mouse pointer moves but neither right or left clicks have any visible effect.

I can navigate with tabs and arrows but that works intermittently and not at all in some windows.

I have restarted twice and tried a different mouse in a different USB slot.

Nothing has been added to the computer since it last worked perfectly and it failed before loading the latest updates.

Any more ideas?

Ok - I ran disc cleanup and that seems to have solved the problem.

Maybe a full cache?
