I have just been looking in the Windows Help section and searched for video demos. On clicking whichever one I want all I get is a voice reading instructions, but there is no video demo.

Anyone have any idea why this should be ?
Thanks in anticipation.

No one got any suggestions re this problem ? When I go to Windows Help and Support from the start, that is when the videos will not play. I tried the ' working with files and folders' item, but that is when I got the green screen with only the voice commentary.
I visited MSN site yesterday. Some of the videos played with no problem, yet the same one - 'working with files and folders' would not play, again only the green screen with voice over.

Ex_Brit, Thanks for that. Just had a look at System Files- SFC Command, but that is a bit too deep for me. The demos are not all that important. Have used the laptop for 3 years, being self taught, and I thought I would have a look at various demo videos (on Help and Support) just to see what else I was missing out on.

Ex_Brit, Just had a brainwave, and inserted a DVD into the laptop (from a photography magazine)and it is playing correctly, so it looks as though the 'fault' may be with Microsoft's demo videos.
I will just have to carry on learning in a self taught fashion. Thanks.

They are probably corrupted, how of course is a mystery. The System File Check (SFC) may restore things to normal. I've found in the past that such things can happen if you use registry cleaners or are in the habit of searching out and deleting files that one thinks aren't necessary...when they really are.

Meanwhile make sure you system is totally up to date.
