run cmd elevated shortcut ?

hi

im looking to create a shortcut to release and renew my ip. address all with one click. (using a rainmeter skin to fire it off)

but the problem im having is when the batch file is executed (using rainmeter) vista isnt allowing me as the relase ip etc commands require elevated privilages rather than a standard cmd.

what i would like to know is there a way round this? to bypass vista uac control and run a cmd with elevated privilages to the end that the elevated cmd releases my ip then renews it. all with one click. ?

many thanks to anyone that can assist me on this.

thanks for reading

Sorry about that. No you would not be able to create the elevated shortcut in Vista HP. :(

Using the built-in Administrator will allow you to run elevated (run as administrator) all the time. Be sure to read the warning though.

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67567-administrator-account.html

By default, this account doesn't have a password, so leaving it blank and pressing Enter should work. If not, then log in to your old administrator account, and change/remove the password for the built-in Administrator.

no problem maybe the nudge i need to get a new one or at least upgrade win.lol

ah i see i did not try hitting enter it came up requesting password dont have one so left it. didnt think to try that.

as for the admin acc side of things as it is only this one thing im trying to run elevated for use in rainmeter skin. (want to click the skin and release n then refresh my ip in one click from a skin) ill leave that for now. as security etc. but if i get more n more things i want to run elevated then i will definately look back into that so thanks for the info and thanks for your help shawn it is very much apreciated

ps.

is there a way to bypass the uac control on a by case basis. i would like this to bypass the uac but leave uac on for everything else...

thanks again

pps

could the same goal be achieved using a different method such as task scheduler i.e create a task that runs say when the internet is down so that it releases refreshes and renews the ip on that event. so almost seamless as if nothing had happened? so internet goes down. (normally i have to go to the modem "usually all the way dnstairs" wait a min or two then plug back in to resolve.. where as if that was possible the net would go down the task would run to refresh renew the ip andd be back up n running virtually seamlessly??

thanks again
