What happens if you boot XP, then put the Vista DVD in? It should start the install.
It does depend on which version of Vista you are trying to use. XP Media Center is XP Pro based so you need Vista Pro or Ultimeate I believe.

I thought the same thing. but it does nothing. the dvd never loads, I double click the icon and nothing is there.
I put the dvd in, and the dvd rw drive dont even see it. the disc wont load/show up. :/ weird.

changed bios to boot from the dvd. in bios I chose boot from cd. deselected the hard drive. then on booting I get:
No boot device available.
so it's not booting from the dvd.

dont have a diskette. I have the dvd. ??? beats me.

bought it on ebay. does have some scratches on it so maybe thats why its not loading? other cds work so the drive seems to be fine.
