Solved Recovery Disc for Vista SP2?

I've been meaning to make a recovery disc for Vista SP2 on my Gateway GT5656. I do have the "Operating System Disc" that came with the computer, which is what I use to reinstall Vista, or install it on a new hard drive. It's 32 bit. Do I need to make such a disc, or is the OSD all I need? Thanks, Mike

I think it just reinstalls Vista. It says it's an operating system disc, so I assume that's what it is. I don't want to mess with it! It doesn't say it's a repair disc. It says it will erase everything!

The OS Disc is an installation disc which can also be used to repair the system.

Do not be concerned about a repair install. This is what you do now
Download the free Macrium Reflect
Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download
Use it to make an image of your hard drive and keep the image on an external hard drive.
If you keep the image up to date, whenever you have a big problem just use the image to reinstall. There will be no updates to worry about or reinstallation of your stuff

I downloaded the Reflect software from Macrium, and it worked great! I now have a Vista image backup of my hard drive. thanks, Rich!
