Solved Issues with movie in movie maker

I am trying to put 2 videos together using movie maker however one of the videos isn't playing; in the preview window I get a black screen with no audio. It plays in media player but without audio. I thought that this might be a codec issue so I installed first divx and then VLC. Neither has helped however I was able to compare codec information using VLC. The video also plays in Nero Showtime and VLC so I know that the file is good. The video that doesn't work in movie maker says that the audio codec is A52 Audio with channels 3f2R/IFE. The video that works says mpeg audio with stereo channels. Is this why movie maker can't handle the video? Do I need another codec or video converter?
