Solved TV As Second Monitor Unsuccessful

Just tried to see if my HDTV could act as a second monitor and can't seem to get it to work. I get the Vista wallpaper and got the icons once after I changed the resolution I think. If I set the TV to primary monitor it works although virtually any folder I open does not display on the screen but seems to disappear off to the left. In my CCC I tried to duplicate but chose not to because it said doing so would disable the desktop and I don't understand what that'll do. If anyone can aid me here I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Solved it. You need to uncheck "extend" in the Vista display options for the second monitor then in CCC (I have an ATI card) "duplicate" it through right clicking it under "Creating and Arranging Desktops."
