Hey all, long time reader, first time poster;

I decided to move my computer out into a common area of the house because, well my parents computer sucks ass.... My question would be...

Is there any way to custom restrict the standard user accounts? I don't want them to be able to install ANYTHING. I would also like to be able to restrict them from "switching Users" but I would like to be able to use swtich user in my account, although I'm guessing thats alot to ask...

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

You can set up a password protected system with (Don't laugh) Parental Controls in Control Panel. That way they would have to enter a password for the actions you selected in Parental Controls.

Funny, it was designed to monitor & control the kiddies actions. How fate has turned on parents. (haha)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks brink, I agree about the irony! I started around with UAC and parental controls and I must say its come a long way from rc2 when I got so angry at it... It does seem to be doing everything that I need it to.

Thanks again!
