| Vista Business 64 | New to forums, have problems .... Hello all: Just came across your forums today. Looks like a great site for all things Vista 64.Since I installed Vista Business 64, I have had various issues. The two most annoying for me are: 1. Inability to force shutdown SOME programs. For example, this morning I woke up the computer and tried to launch iTunes. It would not start. Went into Task Manager and iTumes (7.2) was already running (why I don't know). OK, I'll shut it down and start over, except iTunes will not shutdown. 2. The inability to shutdown Vista. After the above I deceide to restart the computer. Gets to the "shutting down ..." screen and sits there indefinitely. Must reset. My system particulars are: Asus P5N-e sli e6600 eVGA 7950 GT KO 2 GB ram Thanks for your help, Chris. |

| Windows Vista X64 | Re: New to forums, have problems .... I have read of numerous issues between iTunes 7.2 and Vista X64 so i dont think its fully compatible with the 64-bit version of Vista.Wait for a newer version.I willl search for a FIX and will poet here if i find one ![]() Regarding your PC not shutting down ,make sure you have the latest Windows Updates installed. Also are you clciking the "Power Button" in the Start menu? By Default that would Hibernate and not Shut Down. (In this case go to the arrow to the right of the lock and go to shut down ) Alternatively see if Log Off works , if it does then Log Off and then try and Shut Down (Sounds Lame but may just work ) |
