two copies of desktop.ini

I enabled the view of hidden system files to search for something and found that i had two instances of desktop.ini on my desktop :S

One is copy is 174bytes created 3/11/2006 ()
the other is 282bytes created 30/7/2007 (this one sounds more legit as thats when I reformatted my pc)
is this correct/normal???
can i just delete the earlier file (assuming its not even ment to be there)???

Cheers
Anthony

DONT WORRY FOUND OUT I COULD DELETE THEM BOTH AND HAVE DONE SO
SO far everything seems fine.....
