| MS Vista Ultimate 64 bit | Vista Ultimate 64 bit auto restore points My restore points are supposed to be automatic, and they aren't. I have to manually go in and set the restore point every day or anytime I make a change. I use Vista Ultimate 64 bit solely, no dual boot. When I read the help on Vista it says it is set by default to auto record restore points, and it has not done one! What do I need to do to fix this? |

| MS Vista Ultimate 64 bit | Re: Vista Ultimate 64 bit auto restore points Thank you for the suggestion. I did as you said, but set it for 300 (5 min) just to see if it would work and it didn't. I have no idea why this won't automatically make restore points. I even unclicked and reclicked the auto restore on and off the other day, and all that did was erase the manual restore points I had already done. Any other suggestions on what I can try? Thank you! | Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Vista Ultimate 64 bit auto restore points KbGeek, Did you try restarting the computer to apply the change? If it still will not automatically create restore points, then the only thing I can offer is a way to create a shortcut to make creating a manual restore point a lot easier. - How to Create a Create System Restore Point Shortcut in Vista You might also check in your Group Policy settings to see if there is a policy that turned off this feature. You can see how to change the Group Policies at this link below. I do not have Group Policy with the Home Premium Vista, so I do not know which setting it would be. http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...3.mspx#BKMK_03 Shawn |
