| vista ultimate | connecting an external monitor hi, i have a sony fs920 notebook which came with windows xp. when i had xp it would automatically output when a display was plugged into the vga out port. now that i have windows vista ultimate the laptop will not detect my lcd tv, even though my friends mac book pro does. my laptop has intel gma graphics. is there any way that i can solve the problem without reverting back to xp? any and all help is appreciated thanks, Query |

| Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP1 | Re: connecting an external monitor That should be in your video settings. It's probably under something labled "Additional Monitors." A lot of settings like that are pretty dependent on your graphics card software. What type of graphics do you have? Also, are you trying to display on the TV and the Laptop simultanously? For the interim, you might be able to just click Fn-F8 (I think that's the right one for most laptops), which will switch displays to the TV. If it isn't F8, you should still be able to determine which of those keys. This will at least let us know that the computer is seeing the TV. |
