Well ive got my new system due in the next couple of days as shown in my sig. I figured what the hell, its all new hardware, lets go for 64bit Vista.

Why did i do this? Well theres a mass of negative info about Vista, mainly from what ive gathered by people who have settled into the comfort zone of XP Pro and don't like change, either that or they can't afford a new system capable of running it so settle for complaining about the OS instead. This website has been a breath of fresh air, in the main theres positive information and feedback and plenty of stories of people having good experiences on Vista64.

Ive tended to think of Vista like a computer game rather than an OS in terms of its release. When a new demanding computer game comes out you generally have two choices, 1) Upgrade and keep running at max settings or 2) Lower the settings to medium or low and keep your current rig. Vista it seems is no different, if you go for a high end system and intend to run new software on it then its the OS of choice, if you still like to play Lemmings and are running a Voodoo3 then you really shouldn't be thinking about it.

With 64bit processors the norm now and 4gb RAM rapidly becoming the norm aswell why would you go for a 32bit OS on a brand new system? Well ill see how things go when the PC arrives, if i get to play on it that is, ive got a baby due tommorow so that could be my PC life over and done with for a while!!!!
