| Member | Vista & archive bit Apparently, Vista's backup programs do NOT respect the archive bit. I tested this by manually resetting the archive bit (attribute command) and doing both a full system and a regular backup. I have a large block of astronomical images that I do not need in the backups and thought that maybe I could save some space on my backup drive but that wasn't the case. I expected that the full backup would save those files but hoped the regular backup would not as they represented about 1/4 of my disks current usage. It is not a big issue, just something that everyone should know. Phillip |
