Two displays - different resolutions

Hi all!!!

This is my first post here, it is a good thing I found you because the Web is very useful  Thanks!!!

I have installed Vista Business in a HTPC that I have in my living room.
It has a Nvidia 8800 Ultra graphic card.

I have two displays:
1.- Full HD LCD at 1920x1080
2.- Touch screen in my PC Chasis with a resolution up to 1600 x 1024

The second display is very useful because sometimes I do not want to use neither the LCD nor the mouse+keyboard while I have a party or something else going on at my place xDDD

The (main) problem that I have is in the touch screen because the image displayed doesn't match the touch-screen functionality.

I would like to have different resolutions in both displays, but I can not configure them. I use the Nvidia Control Panel and I set the config to two displays in CLONE MODE, but changes made in resolution in one display affect the other display.

Now I have both displays in 1280x1024, the LCD doesn't look as well as in 1920x1080. The touch-screen display doesn't look good either and, as I just said the image displayed doesn't match the touch-screen functionality.

Is it possible to configure my PC to have 1920x1080 in the LCD and 1600x1024 in the touch-screen display? If so, How?!?!?!?!?

If it is not possible? What would you recommend me doing to my PC config?

Thank you very much,

I'm not to sure about Nvidia but you should be setting your resolution under windows. If you right click and go to properties then then select display settings. there you should have a drop down list of each monitor and you can adjust each monitor independantly... Hope this helps.

How is the full 1080p tv? I am planning on getting one in a few months and may run a similar set up. (without the touch screen tho) ;-)

I am not sure about this, I'll check it out once I get home from work. But I remember that any change made in the first display is also applied in the second display, so I am not able to have different screen resolutions :(

I have had this set up for a few weeks (new PC). I have to say that the display of the fonts and contents of folders and browser are really small, on some of them you can "zoom up" and view the contents but this feature is not available in all "the contents" so you can end blind. I have to look around the configuration to improve the content displaying results. I hope I'll be able to do it.
For divx, satellite and dvb signals, blue-ray, PS3, games and whatever multimedia contents the result is AWESOME :D

Thanks for the help!!

I personally use Windows' Display Settings set independently set resolutions on my 22" TFT and 32" LCD, I find using nVidia Control Panel doesn't work.
