I bought geforce 8600GT today but when I was putting it in I noticed that there is another plugin(zie pic) but I don't have that cable for it in my pc.
do I need to plug it in?? so I need a little help here.  |

Thats a PCI Express power connector.
You need one from the Power supply. Most computer shops sell a "converter" plug from the standard molex power plug to PCIe. But you're probably better off with a new power supply me thinks  |

my pc is new so I think the powersuply Is good but do you mean that ''converter plug'' is a loose cable to connect the graphic card.
EDIT: I managed to get a new powesuply with that cable. but once I installed the powersuply my pc didn't start and I connected everything so what did I do wrong? ps. when I start the pc you see the red light just blink 1 time and thats it. Last edited by chilloh; 03-02-2008 at 11:44 AM. |

Where did you see the red light? Could you post the Company and model number etc.?

Man this pisses me off, Yesterday I figured out what the problem was, my power supply has 20 pins and my motherboard 24 pins so today I bought a converter once installed it my pc still won't go on. help please!!
