Vista Ultimate 64

Hello-
I've just done my first vista build and gotten everything up and running on Ultimate x64. The only thing I didn't buy was a vid card because I basically ran out of money and couldn't go big on the card. I don't do a lot of hardcore gaming, but i do use Adobe CS3 and will play/try out the occasional new game... I plan to try out/play COD4, Crysis, Assassins Creed and a few others, but again, I'm not a heavy gamer who needs teh greatest FPS ever. It'd be nice if things were smooth, and didn't chunk along certainly, but it's not the most important thing to me. Please suggest what you think is the best bang for the buck vid card for 100 or less. Thanks! |

If I were you I would go for the XFX GeForce 8600 GT Video Card. But save up another 50 to 100 dollars and you can get a higher end card.

Try a second hand web based sales. I wont post any links, you may find a pritty new card at a low cost. There are some people who upgrade quite often and sell there old cards.

It is hard to find a decent card for under $100.
But newegg is currently selling an 8800GT for $157 after rebate! old British saying: don't spoil the ship for a halfpenny worth of tar. |

I agreee with geezer10, if you plan to play crysis then you really need a good card.
