Re: sli image tearing and flickering 8600GT $ 10$ via paypal if you solve the issue!!

If you imagine your problem as a golf ball and place that ball into a glass of water that represents everything else...then you will see that the problem does indeed seem rather large in comparison to everything else.

Now, pick up that ball and drop it into a swimming pool that represents everything else. you see now that the problem by comparison is much smaller and some might say insignificant.

You might be thinking but the problem is still there!

Of course!

But it is now so much smaller!

Which games are you using with these graphics problems and are there any gams you play that don;t have these problems?

Have you tried disabling SLi? It may have to do with lousy SLi coding for those games.

personally I would first off disable SLI if that didn't do the job revert your OC to defaults that usualy helps for the most part. Check your temps while gaming see if they all are ok

thanks super very much short after i posted the question ( essentially gave up! ) i found the problem to be common and was on hardware level, THE SLI BRIDGE caused the problems and it does so with the 8600gt cards and once you remove it they r super fine! you loose very little bandwidth! and almost no forseable performance difference so i am cool and called the super nice guys at XFX to ship me a new SLI bridgE! THANKS GUYS THANKS A LOT!!!

Re: sli image tearing and flickering 8600GT $ 10$ via paypal if you solve the issue!!

to all the good people having flickers and other screen issusssessssssss.
You are not alone!!! Many people with this problem on the web.
And this topic has become very popular.
i've been digging around for i also have this very anoying problem.
the issue of flickers is mostly found in the 8000 series, some in the 9000 series too.
this bug came about with the release of newer nVidia drivers.
there is one driver wich i cant remember now that did not have any problems at all maybe 181 or 182 may even be 178 i dont remenber.
but as we all know updates and upgrades are always good.........not!!!!!
in this case the best solution for you will be to go driver fishing untill you find the driver that works best.
i'm also fishing for drivers so if i find one i'll let you know.
Sli is good!!! and i will not disable it for i pay $$$$$$$$ to have this performance.
my other suggestion is to keep writing to nVidia or your vcard manufacturer about this bug.

and last......NOTE!!!!
dont go buying another card if your cards are working (unless of course you are a 100% sure that your vcard is fried) if sli was working fine prior to updating your driver, then is the driver. do a roll back driver thing....or uninstall the new driver and then install the old that worked!
