| Vista Home premium 32bit | Graphic Cards "SLI" freezing..... I build my own PC and install 2 x 8600GTS NVidia graphic card as my motherboard(ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE) allowed it. Unfotunatly each time I click on "SLI" (recommended) my pc freezes. I have to turn it off ,take off the SLI connector and restart it ...this happening for about 6 months now... Of course I join the "SLI NVidia Forums Zone" straight away and I am still waiting for an answer... I cannot beleive it so I decided to take my chance with you all guys, some of you might have an idea I use Vista 32bit home premium all the drivers are up to date..and still nothing even if I run the NVidia nTune it does not work any little help will be so helpfull before I have to throw out of the window the SLI connector!!!!!!!!! |

| Vista™ Ultimate x64 | Re: Graphic Cards "SLI" freezing..... Maybe one of the videocards is broken, try one at a time, and if they both work, the SLI-Bridge could be broken too. |

| Windows Vista™ Ultimate | Re: Graphic Cards "SLI" freezing..... Hey Frenchy, The option is called HPET or High Precision Event Timer, formerly known as Multimedia Timer and this affects the Graphics Card because it replaces the real-time clock with a less effective timer causing many graphical errors and rundll32 errors as its not able to compute the timing required for games or other applications. Just look through your BIOS options for HPET, HPT (high precision timer) or similar then disable it and Im sure it will solve these issues. A few others on this site and myself have had to disable this option to use Vista properly without the same problems you describe. Steven |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Graphic Cards "SLI" freezing..... It is in the BIOS. I have seen a few board lately with SLI issues and they needed a BIOS fix to resolve them. Is your power supply 12V rail large enought to support the SLI? |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Graphic Cards "SLI" freezing..... Your BIOS should have a SLI section that would have all the settings. Does your 750W have 60A @ 12V? Decent video cards can pull 26A each. |
