| Vista x64 Home Premium | The Mystery of the Fuzzy Font Hi I'm new here and I was kind of wondering if I could find someone who might be able to help me with a problem I'm having. You see one my computer have a problem rendering iTunes and Steam; they always seemed blurred or "Fuzzy". Here is an image of what I'm talking about link. The fonts for install menus also look like this and even interestingly enough so does the Nvidia Control Panel (I think this is the source of problem). I'm running this on a new XFX 9600Gt with the latest driver and a Hanns-G 19'' at 1440 by 900 resolution and a fresh install of Vista 64. I'd be grateful for any ideas on how to fix this or suggestions on other places that might be able to help me. |

| Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 | Re: The Mystery of the Fuzzy Font I find it hard to tell if your font is blurry from your picture because it is too small, but you could checking to see if Cleartype font smoothing is on. Right click on your desktop and click "Personalize" > Window and Color Appearance > Open classic appearance options for more color options > Effects The box that says "Use the following method to smooth the edges of screen fonts:" should be ticked, and choose Cleartype from the drop down menu. Also, be sure that your screen resolution is the maximum your monitor can handle. Hope this helps. |

| Vista x64 Home Premium | Re: The Mystery of the Fuzzy Font Yeah I noticed the picture didn't help after I posted the thread....curse you flickr! But anyways I did what you said and unfortunately it did not help and 1440 is the max screen resolution. I am going to do a test to see if it is the monitor by trying a different one. Thanks for the suggestions dude! |

| vista 64 | Re: The Mystery of the Fuzzy Font Another step that might fix the fuzzy font is your monitor's refresh rate. Personalize>Display Settings>>Advanced Settings>Monitor. Somehow it was set to 30 interlaced, instead of the 60 hertz it usually is running. |
