| | ATIHD 2600 pro, not another driver problem... Not long had this card , i downloaded some drivers of i site which where referred 2 as agp ati hd 2600 512mb vista 64 drivers. They turned out 2 be msi drivers for the same card mine is the sapphire version of the card , all seemed fine and dandy at first. I was playing bioshock on full settings with playable good fps a vista score of 5.6 for aero and 5.2 for gaming etc. Anyway after a good few hours of gaming i booted down for a few hours but when i booted back up again later that day my games started freezing up on me all the time. I could game for about 10 mins if i was lucky b4 everything freezes i could not shut down my pc properly it would just not respond. I then went to the sapphire site and downloaded the latest 8.5 agp hotfix i uninstalled the msi drivers and used drivercleaner etc and although they seemed to install they did not work at all. Vista still had me down as a generic vga driver and there was no cat center to be found ? I also tried the non agp hotfix drivers with the same results. I just installed the driver that came with the card and they have installed and seem ok so far, the only problem is now that when i play games like bioshock the frame rates have dropped down to almost unplayable fps which sucks, now i have 2 lower the settings quite abit and my vista score is now 5.5 for aero and 5.0 for gaming. Im guessing this is because im using older drivers ? Does any1 know were i can get agp 8.5 drivers that will install ? Ati or more so sapphire as they make the agp cards still need 2 get there act together if there going 2 sell these agp cards still then they should make sure they function properly by supplying drivers that work.
